Plot Summary:
"In Her Skin" is based on the true story of Melbourne teenager Rachel Barber who was murdered in 1999 by Caroline Reed Robertson. Rachel is beautiful and a very talented dancer, she has a steady boyfriend and having good relationship with her parents.While Caroline, Rachel's former baby-sitter and neighbor from across the street is overweight, has bad skin and suffers strained relationship with her parents,she wanted to be more like Rachel.
When Rachel disappears, her parents Mike (Guy Pearce) and Elizabeth (Miranda Otto) worry about her safety and notify the police. The police are uncooperative and suspect that Rachel is just another teenage runaway. When the body of Rachel was discovered, it was found that her childhood friend,Caroline had commited the murder and then tried to change her identity.
